Oil field jobs are down by more than a third
Workers in the oil and gas industry are being laid off at an unprecedented rate as oil prices fall below $50 a barrel.
More than 4,300 oil field jobs were lost across the country, according to a report by oilfieldservices.com.
The number of oilfield jobs fell by a third in the first quarter of 2018, the report found.
In the first three months of 2019, oilfieldjobs.com reported 4,837 job losses, down by 9,000 from the same period a year earlier.
